FRESNO — After falling behind 2-0, the Madera South baseball team scored 13 unanswered runs against Golden Valley-Merced.

Saturday’s 13-2 win over the Cougars (1-7) at Fresno High was the highest scoring output for the Stallions as they finished 4-4 in the Fresno Central Classic tournament.

“It’s not the ideal way we wanted to start but it’s the way we want to finish,” Madera South head coach John Fernandez said. “I was pretty proud of them.

Once we turned it on, it was on for sure and we did some really good things today.” Madera South won its third straight game and will host Madera (4-4) today at 3:30 p.m...
