FRESNO — For the second straight game, the Madera South baseball team could only produce one run.
After suffering a 3-1 loss to Madera on Monday, the Stallions dropped a narrow 2-1 game Friday to the Hoover-Fresno Patriots on Mike Noakes Field at Bullard High in the North Yosemite League opener.
The Stallions had 10 total base runners on but could only get one of them to score — Art Rodriguez off a Ryan Beavers single in the top of the sixth inning.
“We didn’t come up with the timely hit,” Madera South head coach John Fernandez said. “We had opportunities early on in the game to do some damage but we didn’t come through.” ...
