After allowing three goals in a previous game loss, the Madera South boys soccer team’s normally reliable defense showed its true colors against Sanger.
The Stallions kept the Apaches off the scoreboard but couldn’t produce a goal of their own Friday night in a 0-0 overtime tie at Memorial Stadium.
Prior to keeping Sanger scoreless for a combined 100 game minutes, Madera South (12-7-2, 1-2-1 County/Metro Athletic Conference) was coming off a 3-1 loss at San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno in CMAC play on Wednesday.
“Hats off to our defense tonight,” Stallion head coach Cristino Armiento said. “They came out strong and played hard. The intensity wasn’t there in our last game but the intensity level in this game was way above than what I was expecting.”...
