When the Madera South football team takes on the Liberty Hawks, expect a lot of big plays out of the run-game.

Two potent rushing attacks meet Friday night at Memorial Stadium as the Madera County teams battle for the first time in an official game after scrimmaging each other for the past four seasons. Kickoff is set for 7:30.

The Stallions (0-1) are coming off a 31-20 home loss to Kerman in the season opener as they allowed 263 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Madera South now faces a Liberty team that crushed Farmersville, 47-6, in its opener Friday night and features the top rushing trio of A.J. Leon, Brandon Hutchings and Sam McHatton in its wing-T offense. Add to the mix running backs Wade Wallace and Clay Cullins, who combined for 147 yards and three touchdowns, and Stallions head coach Scott Donegan knows his defense has its work cut off for it...
