After Javier Villar missed a layup in the waning seconds of Madera South’s North Yosemite League boys basketball game, head coach Jody Sharp gave him another chance in overtime.
Villar drained his fourth 3- pointer of the game with 1:28 left in overtime to give the Stallions a 50-46 lead on the way to a 53-48 victory Tuesday against the Fresno Warriors.
“We have to go back to the guy that makes shots,” Sharp said. “We gave him an opportunity to make up for the miss.”
