The Madera South Stallion softball team was able to bang out nine hits, but three errors and seven walks helped the Hoover-Fresno Patriots on Wednesday in a 9-2 victory at Madera South.

Hoover banged out 14 hits and didn’t commit an error in the victory.

Madera South pitcher Juana Rios threw 121 pitches in the loss. She walked seven and didn’t strike out a batter. However, she didn’t get help from the defense with three errors behind her.

“She works her tail off,” head coach Kelly Valmonte said. “She threw a lot of pitches, way more than she needed to. This is not the team capable of showing up.”...
