The Madera Shootout has not been kind to the Madera South girls basketball team thus far as the Stallions lost twice at home, falling 55-42 to Mendota High School on Wednesday and 60-23 to Monache High School on Thursday.

“We've had a number of issues,” head coach Matt Toews said. “We don't want to go back to old, bad habits so we're going to go in and work on getting our confidence back.”

The Stallions (5-9) will have a day off before playing on Saturday against either Sanger or Caruthers, depending on who loses that match-up.

“At this point in our season I don't care who we play,” Toews said. “It doesn't matter because whether we're playing the best team in the valley or the worst team in the valley if we don't do what we need to do it won't make a difference.”...
