FRESNO — It’s not everyday that the Madera South football team gets to face arguably the top team in the Central Section.

Edison (7-0, 2-0 County/Metro Athletic Conference) went into its game with the Stallions without having a taste of defeat while also knocking off out-of-section opponents L.A. section power Crenshaw (29-14) and Sac-Joaquin Section contender Merced (45-0).

Madera South (1-6, 0-2) came in as a team that was riddled with injuries and reeling after losing 55-0 in its CMAC opener to Bullard-Fresno.

Yet facing the prohibitive favorite to win it all this season — on the road no less — the Stallions laced up their cleats, strapped on their chinstraps and took to the field ready for the challenge of Edison in CMAC play...
