Stallions fall in semifinals

TEHACHAPI — In the Division III Central Section Semifinals, the No. 13 seeded Madera South Stallions suffered a heartbreaking 9-5 loss at the No. 9 seeded Tehachapi Warriors on Wednesday.

The Stallions got out to a promising start after building a 4-0 lead through the top of the fifth inning. The runs came on a Christian Ochoa double, a long fly ball into right field that was misplayed by a Warriors outfielder, an RBI single by Adriano Coronado, and a steal home by Donovan Bertoncini.

After allowing a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Stallions couldn't produce any runs in the top of the sixth.

It was an eight-run scoring flurry in the bottom of the sixth inning that doomed the Stallions...
