The Madera South boys and girls cross country teams prepared for the postseason with dominating wins at the Madera South Invitational on Thursday at Lions Town and Country Park.

The boys team took the top five spots for a perfect team score of 15 points. Meanwhile, the girls team scored 39 points, easily beating Sunnyside-Fresno, who scored 76 points.

“The goal for the girls and the boys team is to have the honor to be on the top of that podium at Valley and at State,” head coach Rich Parris said. “This is a great meet for us. I am appreciative of the Fresno Unified support of this meet and I am appreciative of the staff I have. Our staff is top-notch.”

Thirteen teams, including members of the County/Metro Athletic Conference and North Yosemite League, ran in the meet, which is a precursor to the league meets next week...
