Stallions, Coyotes to battle

The sixth edition of the Stadium Road Showdown will be decided tonight on Lee DaSilva Field in Memorial Stadium when the Madera South Stallions host the Madera Coyotes.

Both teams come into Friday’s game winless in the County/Metro Athletic Conference. Madera has been outscored 150-62 (38-16 average) in the four games while the Stallions were outscored 203-33 (51-8 average).

Madera has won five of the last six Stadium Road Showdowns, including last year’s 48-30 match.

No matter what the records are or what teams have done in the past, both teams play up for the rivalry because each team wants the bragging rights and the bandsaw trophy. As if the game needs any more hype, with a Coyote win, it will send the team into the Div. III playoffs...
