Stallions come back for a tie

Although the calendar hasn’t turned to March, baseball season is upon us and the Madera South Stallions rallied twice to force a tie before darkness set in to begin their season.

The Stallions scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie their game with the Sunnyside-Fresno Wildcats at five and then scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game again before it was called because of darkness Tuesday at Eddie Chapa Field.

The Stallions will continue play in the Central Valley Showcase today against Tulare Union at Live Oak Park in Tulare at 4:30 p.m.

In a game that saw three balks called, 11 errors committed, 18 hits, 12 runners left on base and six unearned runs, Stallions head coach John Fernandez knows his team has a lot of work to do...
