The first rain of the new year didn’t put a damper on the Madera South Stallion girls soccer team as it scored four second half goals in a shutout victory over Fresno High.
After a scoreless first half played through a downpour, the Stallions got on the board eight minutes into the second half and didn’t stop until two minutes were left in the match.
“It was the tale of two halves as we, again, attacked with little synchronistic rhythm for the first 40 (minutes),” head coach Pat Evans said. “And Fresno is not the Fresno of old. They are now dangerous, as the 0-0 first half indicated.”
