Both teams headed into their rivalry match-up with even 3-1 County/Metro Athletic Conference records — both with losses to Sanger — and second place on the line.

Madera was coming off a five-set victory over Bullard-Fresno and Madera South suffered a three-set loss to league-leading Sanger, both on Tuesday.

It was the Stallions that were able to regroup to net a 3-1 match win Thursday at Madera South to finish out the first half of the CMAC season.

Luis Escobar led three Stallions hitters in double figures in kills with 13, to go with 13 digs. Dylan Harder and Jonathan Abraham added 10 kills each...
