After a narrow loss Tuesday to the Hoover-Fresno Patriots, the Madera South Stallion boys basketball team got back into the win column with a 64-54 victory over the McLane-Fresno Highlanders at Madera South.
The Stallions (16-3, 1-1) lost a second half lead to Hoover on Tuesday, but didn’t let that happen Thursday against McLane. The Stallions opened up a 13-point lead and closed out the game from the free throw line.
“We didn’t play smart on the offensive end,” head coach Jody Sharp said. “We tried to do too much with the basketball. However, we figured out a way to get the W.”
With leading scorer Shaq Moore out for half the game because of foul trouble, Andre Wiltz stepped up to lead the Stallions. He recorded team-highs in points (16) and steals (5) and also had seven rebounds...
