The only head coach in the history of the Madera South football program officially announced his resignation by telling his players Friday afternoon.
In seven varsity seasons of leading the Stallions, Scott Donegan compiled a record of 18-57 and missed the playoffs the past two seasons.
“This was all his decision to step down,” Madera South athletic director Marty Bitter said. “He kind of felt like he was busting his hump but things were not getting any better and thought maybe a change was needed to kick start the program.”
Donegan will continue to teach history at the high school and run the off-season football weight-training program until a new coach is hired...
