FRESNO — After a slow start in the first half, the Madera South boys basketball team picked up its pace facing an upstart Roosevelt-Fresno team.

The Stallions trailed at halftime Tuesday but outscored the Rough Riders 32-16 in the second half on the way to a 49-35 win at Roosevelt High.

“That was ugly,” Madera South head coach Jody Sharp said. “That was just poor effort in the first half by us in reference of the things we should be doing. Those are the type of games that you just have to figure out a way to win and we got it done in the second half.”
