Saturday, November 07, 2009

By Tyler Takeda

The undefeated North Yosemite League champion Madera South Stallions will open up the CIF Central Section Division III playoffs with a home match Tuesday against the Selma Bears in the West Gym.

The Stallions, who won their second straight NYL championship Thursday night, received the No. 3 seed in Div. III playoffs. They are the highest seed in Div. III to play Tuesday night and will face the lowest seed in the bracket, No. 14 Selma Bears.

The Bears finished with a 4-8 Central Sequoia League record and are 10-12 overall.

As predicted by head coach Jeannie Davis, the Madera Coyotes, who finished 5-5 in the Tri-River Athletic Conference, will open the Div. I playoffs Tuesday hosting TRAC foe No. 10 Clovis East.
