Fantasy Football: Week 8 results

Friday, November 06, 2009

By Paul Stanford and Tyler Takeda

This week, Team Takeda is breathing a sigh of relief. For the first time this season, with both teams going head- to-head, Team Takeda pulled out a team victory (522-491).

Team Stanford is still holding the season edge with seven wins against Team Takeda's five. Team Stanford was all but resigned to a loss with both Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger on a bye week.

The Second Coming received brilliant performances by the quarterback group. Despite Matt Ryan scoring just nine points, the other three quarterbacks combined for 87 points. Aaron Rodgers edged out Brett Favre in a head-to-head match-up, 34-33, even though Favre's team won the game. The MVP of the week was Chris Johnson, rushing for a Ten- nessee Titan team record 228 yards with two touchdowns and 37 points.

The Dream Team got a solid performance from the receiving corps. It scored 115 points between the six receivers. Reggie Wayne led the receivers with 32 points with 12 catches for 147 yards. The smart move of the week goes to moving Ted Ginn Jr. into the starting line-up. Even though Ginn didn't catch a pass, he returned two kick-offs for touchdowns for 12 points each.
