After finishing the season 22-5 and 7-3 in the North Yosemite League to place second, the Madera South boys basketball team was rewarded with a possible second round meeting with the No. 1 seed.
After finishing second in the NYL, Madera South coach Jody Sharp thought his team would be seeded between No. 4 or No. 7 in the Central Section Division III playoffs when the seedings were announced Saturday.
However, the Stallions received a No. 8 seed and will host No. 9 Dinuba on Tuesday. The winner gets a possible matchup with top seed Mt. Whitney-Visalia two days later.
“We got screwed again,” Sharp said. “I don’t know what else to do. I don’t understand why they are favoring the teams down south.” ...
