Allen and Alex Smith, both tremendous multiple-sport athletes for Madera High from 1983-1987, will be inducted into the Madera Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday night at the Madera Municipal Golf Course.
Both were very accomplished three-sport athletes in football, basketball and track and field. They were three-year two-way starters on the Coyote football team and played in two Valley championship games in 1984 and 1986.
Allen was a running back and defensive end and Alex a tight end and defensive end as sophomores when each was chosen by the legendary Street and Smith magazine as national Blue Chip underclassmen and honorable mention All-Americans.
They were named to the All-North Yosemite League team all three years and to the All-Metro team as seniors...
