Speedway action set for Saturday
The second round of the $1,000 to Win LoanMart Open Late Model series will take place at the LoanMart Madera Speedway on Saturday, with extra cash prizes being given out to drivers at random — promising new faces to the track.
The extra incentive — $200 and $100 prizes to the cars whose numbers are drawn first and second — for the twin 50-lap headlining event, as well as a $100-to-win sponsorship for the 4-Banger division by United Investment Auto Sales will bring new drivers and match them up with local favorites.
Those local classes will be on display in the popular Toyota Sedans, Hobby Stocks, and the MSTs, which Speedway owner Kenny Shepherd said are “back on the rise and ready to join in on the crowd-pleasing fun.”
There will also be an 18 Second Bracket Race to close out the evening, where drivers put up money in a winner-take-all attempt to get a lap time as close to 18 seconds without going over...
