The Madera Coyote girls basketball team went into the halftime break trailing the Sunnyside-Fresno Wildcats 31-30, but used a 15-0 third quarter run to outscore the Wildcats 31-12 in the second half for a County/Metro Athletic Conference victory.
The Coyotes (12-9, 3-1 CMAC) shot 55 percent (11- of-20) in the second half and hit four 3-pointers for a 61-43 victory Friday night at Sunnyside.
Shellie Perkins led the way for the Coyotes with 17 points with four 3-pointers and five rebounds.
“Shellie played a great all-around game,” head coach Jason Smith said. “She’s been playing good basketball the last two weeks.” ...
