The Madera Coyote boys basketball team made just three field goals in the second half and a one-point game turned into a 59-49 loss Thursday at the Madera South Classic.

The Roosevelt-Fresno Rough Riders took advantage of the cold-shooting Coyotes to outscore Madera 20-11 for the victory.

“They made some adjustments where it made it hard to get the ball inside to Ethan (Richardson),” head coach Michael Hawkins said. “We kind of struggled getting the ball from the outside and settled for jump shots.”

Ethan Richardson scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half to go with eight rebounds. However, he was the lone Coyote in double figures...
