After an uneventful first half, two blasts from Luis Hernandez changed the outlook of a match between Hernandez’s Madera Coyote boys soccer team and the Edison-Fresno Tigers.

Hernandez, the reigning County/Metro Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player, scored two goals 3 minutes apart to help turn a scoreless game into a 4-0 rout Thursday night in Memorial Stadium.

“Edison kind of lost track of Luis and he was able to get his shots off,” head coach Chris Baca said.

Sergio Perez and Jose Cortez scored the final two goals of match for the victory...
