Rivera leads FPU in championships

Former Madera South cross country runner, freshman Cristal Rivera, placed 22nd for Fresno Pacific on Nov. 2 at the PacWest Championships in San Rafael. Rivera just missed All PacWest honors to help Fresno Pacific improve three spots over last season to seventh this season. 

Ismael Guzman (Madera South) placed sixth on the Fresno Pacific men’s cross countryteam to help the Sunbirds place sixth as a team. He placed 42nd overall. 

The Sacramento State Hornets football team scored 21 fourth-quarter points against 12th ranked Montana on Nov. 2 and scored with 23 seconds left in the game to tie the score. Montana won the game with a touchdown, 51-48, on its first play of overtime. Ben Cowger (Liberty) recorded a tackle for a four-yard loss for the Hornets. Justin Weldon (Liberty) had four punts for a 44.2-yard average for Sacramento State. 

Jordan Moineau (Liberty) had three shots on goal for the sixth ranked Cal State Stanislaus women’s soccer team in a 2-0 victory over Humboldt State on Nov. 1. Moineau also had a shot on goal in a 4-0 victory over Cal State East Bay as the Warriors remained unbeaten on the season...
