A rainy forecast has forced the LoanMart Madera Speedway to delay tonight’s scheduled event to Sunday morning and afternoon, track owner Kenny Shepherd said Friday afternoon.
“Even though I usually fight the rain like crazy, the forecast is looking like just too much this time,” Shepherd said. “Fans shouldn’t worry though, everything will be the same. Races are the same, tickets are the same, and we’re still going to put on a heck of a show out there Sunday.”
On Sunday, the grandstands will open at 10 a.m. for the Smokey Hanoian Classic, with official races to begin around 12:15 p.m.
Races will still include: the United States Auto Club/Bay Cities Racing Association (USAC/ BCRA) midgets and vintage midgets; the Northern California Modified Association sprints; vintage super modifieds; USAC HPD ignite midgets; the first race of Madera’s Hobby Stock Open Series; the always-flashy winged sprints vs. super modified series; and the first of eight races in the LoanMart Open Late Model Series...
