The Madera South Stallion boys volleyball team and the Liberty Hawk boys tennis team will both open the CIF Central Section playoffs at home.
Boys volleyball
The Stallions, who were second in the North Yosemite League, received a No. 8 seed in the Division I boys volleyball playoffs and will host cross-town rival No. 9 Madera, who placed third in the County/Metro Athletic Conference, tonight at 7 p.m. in the West Gym.
Boys tennis
The Hawks, who tied for the North Sequoia League title with Chowchilla, will open the first round with a bye and begin play on Friday at Liberty against the winner of No. 10 Arvin and No. 7 Caruthers at 4 p.m.
