Players gear up for North- South Rotary All-Star game

MADERA RANCHOS — The best football players from Coalinga to Stockton will participate in Friday’s annual North/South Rotary All-Star Game at Merced’s Golden Valley High.

Coaching the South team — comprised of the top players from the Central Section — will be Liberty head coach Mike Nolte, who guided the Hawks to a 12-1 season and the 2012 Div. V Valley championship.

Nolte and his staff will be coaching Madera County players Fabian Diaz (Madera) and Christian Morales (Madera South) along with former Hawks Cody Sanders, A.J. Leon, J.J. Santa Cruz and Logan Doss.

While kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m., the South team has been practicing since Monday at Liberty High School...
