After suffering a heartbreaking loss in last season’s Madera American Little League championship game, top seeded Papa Murphy’s was looking for redemption in its return trip.
While it fell one out short of claiming the title last year, Papa Murphy’s (21-1) was able to finish off the job in this game as it took the MALL championship Saturday night with a 1-0 win over No. 3 Madera Police (13-9) on Mike Howe Field at Lions Town and Country Park.
“We had nine kids returning from last year,” Papa Murphy’s manager Bo Bertoncini said. “They just had that feeling in their stomachs from last year and they weren’t going to be denied this time.”
