The San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno Panthers baseball team banged out 17 hits Friday in an 8-2 victory over the Madera Coyotes in Mel Parker Field.

The Coyotes only managed three hits — two singles from JoJo Contreras and an RBI single from Scott Roberts — while five Panthers had more than two hits in the game. The Panthers also left 11 runners on base.

“I don’t know what went wrong,” Madera head coach Andy Underwood said.

The Coyotes beat the Panthers 7-1 in the CMAC opener March 15. However, the Panthers defeated the Coyotes 4-1 on Tuesday and won the series Friday...
