The San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno Panthers drained four 3-pointers to turn a Madera Coyote girls basketball fourth quarter two-point lead into a seven-point County/Metro Athletic Conference loss.
The Coyotes fell to 3-3 in the CMAC and into a third place tie with the Panthers on Thursday.
Madera limited Memorial leading scorer Sara Vasquez to just five points and one 3-pointer. However, it was the Memorial bigs shooting from the outside that hurt the Coyotes.
Christina Rontell, a 6-foot-1 forward, drained 4-of-5 3-pointers, including three in the fourth quarter. Madison Kast, another 6-foot-1 forward, hit two in the second quarter to turn the game back to the Panthers.
