For the beginning of the game against the Chowchilla Redskins, the Madera South Stallions girls basketball players looked like a much better and improved team than last year’s version.
However, that was just for one quarter. Still, the Stallions held on for the remaining three for a 51-39 non-league victory Wednesday at Madera South.
“If we could not be ahead, but close enough, that would help our second and third quarters,” head coach Matt Toews said. “If we are ahead, we kind of turn it back and if we’re behind too much, we turn it off. We’re just struggling with consistency.”
