The Madera South Stallions baseball team outhit the Clovis Cougars, but the hits didn’t translate to scores in a 1-0 loss at the Central Baseball Classic.

The Stallions ran themselves out of two innings and left the bases loaded in another in Thursday’s loss to a team made up of extra players on the Clovis Cougars roster.

Sal Martinez was the tough luck loser, allowing an earned run in the third inning on just three hits with six strikeouts.

Mott Preston allowed six Stallion hits, but struck out seven and his defense made the plays to keep the Stallions off the scoreboard...
