If the Madera South Stallions boys basketball team had a problem with being off for three weeks, it didn’t show against Yosemite-Oakhurst.

The Stallions, who last played Dec. 16, dominated the outmanned Yosemite Badgers in their first game of the new year.

The Stallions shot 54 percent (28-of-52) from the field, including 9-of-15 from 3-point land (60 percent) for an easy 69-27 victory Monday at Madera South.

“It helps to put an opponent away early so you can try to work on different things and get a lot of players minutes,” head coach Jody Sharp said. “There are still some things we have to do. We’re not where I would like us to be right now. I wanted to see where we’re out with our progression and this gives us a good idea heading into a tournament.” ...
