Edgar Segura and the Mendota Aztecs scored a go-ahead touchdown with 2:40 left in the first half to take a 13-10 lead. On Liberty’s next play, quarterback Zach Richey threw a quick pass to Travis Jordan on a slant pattern. Jordan put on the breaks, put out a stiff arm and spun off the defender. He then went down the right sideline with Richie Brandt running with him as a protector.
Jordan wasn’t touched the rest of the way for a 77-yard touchdown and a 17-13 lead with 2:16 left in the first half and kept the momentum going into halftime.

On third down, defensive end Trevor Stephens sacked Mendota quarterback Estevan Trejo to bring out a fourth down punt from the five. Logan Pierce returned the punt nine yards to the Mendota 32-yard line. On third-and-14, everyone in the stadium knew what was going to happen. Richey was going to look for receiver Travis Jordan for the first down. Richey threw down the field towards the left sideline. Jordan caught the ball just before going out of bounds at the five-yard line for a 31 yard gain.
Two plays later, Kendall Malone found the end zone off the left side for the touchdown and a 31-19 lead with nine minutes left in the fourth and the lead Liberty wouldn’t relinquish...
