After undergoing some major changes within its board and bylaws, the Madera Youth Soccer League will hold its first registration for the new season on Saturday at Town and Country Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The league changed its logo and adopted a mission statement that reinforces the commitment to teach the game of soccer to the Madera community.

“I’m really excited for it,” MYSL president Michael Dusan said. “The change is for the kids and the community. We want people in the community to take soccer seriously. With the new change, we hope to start knocking on some new doors to help develop new skills. It’s going to take time, but that’s what we’re going to do.”

Registration for the league is $60 on Saturday. Cost for registration on April 19, May 3, 17 and 31 is $70, cash only. There is a $5 family discount for up to three children for those dates as well. An original and a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required at registration...
