Moore and Locke hold their own in All-Star game

FRESNO — Facing the top high school basketball players in the Central Section, Madera South’s Shaq Moore and Liberty’s Nathan Locke showed why they belonged with the Valley’s best in the 42nd annual City/County All-Star game.

Despite suffering a 117-104 loss to the City squad Wednesday night at Hoover High’s Events Center on Jacobsen Court, both players made their presence known for the County team as Moore scored 14 points while Locke grabbed five rebounds.

Moore, who was a 6-foot-3 three-year varsity letterman and led Madera South to a school-best 22-6 record this season, was the County’s starting point guard.

“Coming into this game, I just wanted to have fun and enjoy my last high school game with these players that I have competed against for the past four seasons,” Moore said. “Playing in this game felt like a reward for all of the hard work that I had put in the last four years.” ...
