CLOVIS — Two numbers sum up the Madera Coyote girls volleyball team’s match against the Buchanan-Clovis Bears — 13 and 11. The first is the number of missed serves for the Coyotes and the second, the number of aces for the Bears that almost accounts for a whole set in a 3-1 non-league loss to the ninth-ranked Tri-River Athletic Conference opponents.
“We made a lot of mistakes,” Madera head coach Robyn Royston said. “You can’t win if you can’t serve and pass.”
Brielle Hefner was a bright spot with 11 kills to go with five blocks.
