Massetti wins game in dramatic fashion

If there was one lesson that the Madera American Little League AAA champ Massetti Appliance learned in its District 10 Tournament of Champions game against Reedley, it’s that the game is not over until it’s over.

Despite trailing 16-6 early in the ballgame and facing a six-run deficit heading into the bottom of the sixth inning of the single-elimination tournament, Massetti showed its resiliency in a dramatic 21-20 win over the Reedley Dodgers on Tuesday at Lions Town and Country Park.

“My kids just have heart,” Massetti manager Angelo Feliu said. “I don’t know where they find it but they just do. They were praying in the dugout and just came through. It wasn’t pretty but we got some key walks and hits and they finished the game.”

With the hard-fought victory, Massetti advanced to the TOC semifinals and will host the winner of Sunnyside/River Park American at Lions Town and Country Park tonight at 6:30...
