FRESNO — After a nine-run loss to the Selma 9-10-year-old All-Stars in the quarterfinals of the District 10 Little League tournament, the Madera American Little League All-Stars won their next two games by a combined 26 runs to earn another battle with Selma.

With a loss to Selma already, Madera American needed a win Saturday over Selma at River Park Little League to force another game Sunday for the District 10 title.

Madera American held a 5-3 lead in the top of the fifth with the bases loaded and two outs when Selma’s John Ambrose hit his second home run of the season to lift his team to a 7-5 lead.

Madera American, for the second time in the game, answered Selma’s runs to tie the game, but Selma scored an unearned run in the top of the seventh inning for the 8-7 victory and the District 10 championship...
