With just 23 of 34 players dressed for Friday’s Green and Gold football scrimmage, Liberty Hawks head coach Mike Nolte knew there would be some depth issues.
Eleven players were either injured or didn’t have enough practices to suit up Friday, but the big picture is still two weeks away when the Hawks open the season Aug. 31 at home against Farmersville.
Both the first team offense and defense looked impressive. However, the second teams still had work to do, but that was mostly due to the lack of players available.
