After recording four tackles with a fumble recovery and a safety, former Madera Coyote defensive lineman Sisco Garcia was named College of St. Marys defensive player of the week after a Sept. 8 loss to Friends College-Kansas.

Garcia also had a tackle in a Sept. 15 loss to Ottawa College-Kansas.

Katherine Grow (Madera) recorded 14 kills and 9 digs in a victory at the Trinity National Invitational in Texas. However, she sprained her ankle in the match and will miss the next two weeks.

Fresno State cross country runner Carina Mendoza (Madera) placed sixth for the Bulldogs with a 23rd place finish at the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle on Sept. 17 to lead the Bulldogs to a second place finish...
