After going dark in the previous week, the LoanMart Madera Speedway returned with a nice helping of fantastic racing for the Memorial Day weekend as it honored those who served or are currently in the military.

 Drivers in the LoanMart Late Model Open Series, Pick-a-Part Southwest Tour Trucks, Toyota Sedans, MST’s, Hobby Stocks, 4-Bangers and WSRA Mini Cups put forth a valiant effort on Saturday on Military Tribute Night.

While the main headliner of the night was “Fortney vs. Large” — in reference to a potential stirred up rivalry between gritty racers Kyle Fortney and Donnie Large Jr., that stemmed from a previous race incident — it was the hometown driver that stole the show.

Madera’s Del McIntosh took the 30-lap main in the Toyota Sedans division as he picked up his first victory of the season...
