Madera teams ready for area track meet

After competing in the County/Metro Athletic Conference championships last week, track and field athletes from Madera and Madera South will have a chance to earn a coveted spot in the May 18 CIF Section Masters Championship meet.

Members of both the Coyotes and Stallions will challenge for a Valley Championship appearance in the North Area meet today at Clovis East starting at 3:30 p.m.

Teams mainly from the CMAC, North Yosemite League and Tri-River Athletic Conference will be on hand in a meet where the top three marks in each event automatically qualify to the Central Section championships. However, at-large bids depend on the overall top six times and places out of all the area meets including from the Central and South ones.
