CLOVIS — The Fresno Easter Classic baseball tournament kicked off Monday, with all three Madera-area teams — the Madera Coyotes, Madera South Stallions, and Liberty Hawks — facing tough competition over spring break.

The three-day, 34-team tournament concludes today.

Madera Coyotes

The Coyotes started off the tournament against two Timberwolves squads on Monday — Clovis East in the morning and Sierra-Manteca in the afternoon — with two very different results.

Against Clovis East, Madera was unstoppable, as right fielder Scott Roberts and shortstop Tristen Alvarez drove in two runs each on its way to a 7-1 victory...
