Usually, the No. 6 cross country runner on a particular team doesn’t get noticed.
However, the 2012 Madera South cross country team wasn’t your ordinary team. The Stallions placed three runners in the top four, four runners in the top five and six runners in the top 16 to run away with the Div. I boys championship November at Woodward Park in Fresno.
On Thursday, Ismael Guzman-Berdejo, the No. 6 runner on that team, signed his National Letter of Intent to run cross country and track for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds to become the third member of the Valley Championship team and fourth member of the 2013 cross country class to sign a National Letter of Intent.
