After three weeks of facing off against teammates, the Madera Coyote football team will finally be able to hit someone they won’t see the next day.
The team unofficially opens the football season Friday night at 7:30 in a scrimmage against Tulare Union in Memorial Stadium. However, the time may change to later in the evening due to the heat.
“We are going to try to start the junior varsity and freshmen at 6:30, depending on the weather,” head coach Scott McKinney said. “We are going to try to hustle that along to get varsity started at 7:30, but it may be closer to 8 p.m. because it’s supposed to be hot.”
McKinney hopes to see a different team Friday night than he saw at last week’s Blue/White scrimmage...
