Madera family finds success in tractor pulling

The gargantuan tractors line up on a 300-foot track of hardened dirt with a 38,000-pound sled behind them.

The front wheels of these massive machines lift off the ground, earth churning, engines pumping at max capacity as they pull the sled as far as possible while fans cheer on the spectacle.

It’s an event known as tractor pulling, and out of at least 10 teams that will take to the LoanMart Madera Speedway this Saturday in the event, a pair of Madera brothers will be favorites for the win in a family tradition more than 35 years old.
