Madera businesses support local supercross racer

Almost every Saturday night from January to May, one Maderan can be seen soaring through the air on his golden eagle.

That Maderan is 22-year-old Dustin Pipes on his yellow 450 Suzuki. The logo of Madera Honda Suzuki, one of Pipes’ sponsors is dominantly displayed on his front fender.

Pipes races for Team TPJ/fly racing, otherwise known as The Privateer Journey. Privateers are riders that do not have backing from the factories. Factory riders are given the best equipment before anyone else can use it. Privateers buy their parts off the showroom floor and do not have the funding that the factory riders have. 

With all these drawbacks, Pipes still pushes his #181 Suzuki, sponsored by New Era Crossfit and Carl Nelson Insurance, with the best each week. Pipes is competing in the 450SX division of Monster Energy AMA Supercross...
